The making of Moscow heat supply station appearance

Overview   Process

Getting the approval for painting. Choosing ten technical buildings in the center of Moscow and checking out how the borders will look on them. Looking for a balance of size and color.

When we are ready to produce stencils, the facility management company is replaced, meaning all previous agreements are now void.

Approaching Gazprom for a new permission. The Gazprom management is open to the idea, but asks to make the borders in their corporate colors. Most of the templates now have to be discarded as Gazprom blue does not go well with the color of building walls. We now have to work with white buildings only.

Disposable stencils will not bear heavy street use: we need vinyl stencils which require drawings to have bridges.

Turns out, drawings with bridges look even better.
