The events of the novel take place in London’s East End during the 1930s. A young man named Fynn meets Anna—an inquisitive and straightforward girl who is terribly keen on finding answers to all questions about the world. Though only five, she understands the meaning of life and what love is, and is a friend and assistant to Mister God.
