The making of the Sign in Orenburg, Russia
This drifty and gentle night,
When snowy darkness covers the roads,
My dear, cover your shoulders
With the Orenburg downy shawl.
We choose the cobweb pattern of the Orenburg shawl as the main motif for the Sign.
Designer: We can celebrate Orenburg with its signature downy shawl.
Art director: Sure we can, but we can do better.

Starting to draw, which turns out to be difficult. The designer is trying not just to recreate the shawl pattern (which comes out as a knitting guide), but to create a feeling of a real knit shawl.
