Armand Emmanuel Sophie Septemanie de Vignerot du Plessis, fifth Duke de Richelieu left France at the end of the 18th century and in 1803 was appointed Odessa town governor. A year after the duke’s death, sculptor Ivan Martos created a memorial that has become one of the most recognizable symbols of the city. To make sure any tourist can easily find their way to the landmark, a set of six stickers was created at the studio. Each sticker has a pair of eyes is looking in a different direction, but the stickers are positioned to always point to the monument.
Micronavigation elements are made of vinyl film with a layer of a special glue for especially difficult surfaces.
The pointers add life to parking barriers, bollards, vases, trashcans and city benches.
