The making of the cover design for The Book That Everybody Reads by Bernard Werber

Overview   Process

Inventing the idea. The initial title of the book: The New Encyclopedia of Absolute and Relative Knowledge. It presents totally random unrelated facts from different areas. Thinking about the idea of a whole made from parts and surprises that are hidden everywhere.

The client likes the idea of a book reading a book reading a book. The book gets renamed into The Book That Everybody Reads. 384 Unexpected Truths.

Drawing the illustration. The client likes the style.

Now the cover text. Making relaxed lettering in the mood of the book.

Placing the text on the cover.

Art director: Let’s get rid of the blue hands.

The hands get warmer.

Making final touches.
