CSKA Handball Club identity

The men’s and women’s CSKA handball teams, which previously operated independently, have now united under a single structure. In a short time, both teams have achieved significant success in the national championship. The studio created a bold logo that reflects the determination of both teams in their fight for top positions.

At the heart of the logo are CSKA’s timeless symbols: the shield and the star. The outline of the shield seamlessly incorporates a hand either catching the ball or preparing for a precise throw. The engraved style references heraldry and the coat of arms of Moscow, the club’s home city.
The dynamic lettering supports the shapes of the shield, which remain recognizable even in a single-line version.

To avoid the appearance of a photo negative, the shadow must always be darker than the light part. That’s why the identity includes two achromatic versions, one for dark backgrounds and one for light.
A triumphant gold version was created specifically for major victories and celebratory occasions.

The engraving from the logo forms a recognizable background graphic. Wavelike strokes convey the game’s dynamics, the emotions of the fans and the movement of the stands. Wedge-shaped elements make it possible to simulate a gradient effect where a true gradient is technically not feasible.

A flexible generator allows for an infinite number of graphic variations for any purpose.

The updated identity helps amplify and brighten the victories of the CSKA handball club.
