Founded as a fortress on the river Iset in 1723, Ekaterinburg was named after Empress Catherine I (Ekaterina). Today the city is regarded as one of the most appealing in Russia for making business and building a successful career. Two hundred and ninety one years after its founding, the city received its own logo.
The logo looks modern while maintaining the connection with history. Green is the color of two famous Ural gems, emerald and malachite.
