Soft and picturesque patterns composed of meadow grasses are inspired by the ornaments of Kursk and Oryol kilims — traditional pileless carpets. The farther south a carpet is woven, the more unusual colors, exotic plants, and bright spots appear in its palette. But over time, kilims fade — and a dithering effect arises: paints mix with each other, spots glitch, scuffs and faded stripes appear. In the studio patterns, pixel clover, thistle, and hawkweed, having burned out under the hot sun, have acquired a special tenderness.
