Uniform of the Unison-Moscow hockey club

“Unison-Moscow” has been competing in the National Youth Hockey League since 2022 and is the holder of the tournament’s main trophy — the Regions Cup. In the studio, a playing uniform was designed for the ambitious team that emphasizes the club’s determination and attracts the eyes of the fans.

At the core of the graphic concept are dynamics and perspective, which is quite logical for athletes striving for new achievements. Rays disappearing into infinity break up the space, form a distinctive rave aesthetic, and subordinate all other graphic elements to themselves.

The griffin from the club logo clearly speaks of an aggressive style of play and a readiness to fight to the last.

The lettering on the front of the sweater is drawn according to a perspective grid so that the letters go beyond the horizon, inviting the viewer to look into the team’s successful future.

The proprietary typeface supports the rave aesthetic of the uniform: due to its striving for monospacing, the characters resemble an image on a segmented display.

To preserve the overall dynamic of the style, the surnames on the back were also subjected to perspective distortion. But since the shape of the characters depends on the length of the word, it is not possible to simply create a typeface with slanted symbols: it would be necessary to make an infinite number of alternates for each letter.

Therefore, a special template was developed.

The perspective effect creates an imbalance in stroke thickness: the upper part becomes too light, and the lower, on the contrary, excessively massive. Anticipating this, the studio created a special style with distortion compensations. The upper strokes are deliberately made thicker, and the lower thinner.

Four sets of numerals were drawn according to the same principles.

The captain’s and assistant’s letters clearly fit into the general graphic style.

All the described rules are also applied in the away uniform, but the color is changed to white.
