One of the five largest Russian online cinemas shows top-rated TV series, cartoons and sports broadcasts, and also produces feature films and makes advertising. At the studio, the main website, mobile version and smart TV app were designed for “Start”, completely rethinking the principles of presenting content.

Acquaintance with the cinema begins with the landing page. The bright dynamic promo page brings together teasers of the best new releases and promoted advantages of different types of subscriptions. The content of the page promptly changes with the appearance of each new cool video.

On the subscription option selection screen even the most complex terms are explained as accessibly as possible: a timeline and labels with current prices for each period help with this.

The main page of the cinema has been turned into a bright showcase. Newcomers immediately see the latest major hits here, and long-time visitors see their favorite videos and collections of personal recommendations.

Favorite series are added to favorites with one click. The built-in calendar promptly notifies about the release of the next episode, increasing the chances of watching it among the first.

The full collection is available in the “Catalog” section. To make orientation easier, in addition to the obvious separation by genres, filters by mood, source of content, country, year of release and user rating have been added.

A bright neon-style pictogram was created for each genre.

Before viewing begins, the page of a film, series or TV show offers plenty of related information about the video. And after launch the “smart player” displays convenient navigation through the content on the screen. During pauses and after viewing, unobtrusive recommendations appear.

A large section of the online cinema is dedicated to everything happening around cinema. The project’s editorial team covers the world behind the scenes, interviews actors, is interested in critics’ opinions and compiles all kinds of ratings.

Interactive tools turn any selection or longread into engaging material to explore. Favorite films are easy to save directly from the articles.

All saved videos are collected in the personal account. Account and subscription management also take place there. Several profiles are provided for one account, including children’s ones, which are protected by a PIN code from adult content.

The cinema is growing, the services are developing, and therefore “Start” is always in need of competent professionals. To improve the HR brand image of the cinema, the studio designed a page about careers at the company.

Intuitive navigation was devised for quick job search.

The job section in the field of information technology turned out to be so large that it required a separate page. The landing page communicates with IT specialists in the same language.
