Batyrkhan Shukenov disc digipak

Overview
Task: to celebrate the memory of a musician.

Batyrkhan Shukenov is a Russian and Kazakh musician, composer and poet, the founding member of the band A-Studio who passed away in 2015.

A digipak consisting of 11 CDs helps trace the musician’s creative path and enjoy the results of his work.

Opening the digipak, the listener sees eleven gold discs and a flying bird, a beautiful and lyrical metaphor for the musician’s legacy.

Inside is a collage of Batyr’s photos and the discs themselves. Each has information about the songs that are on it and the years they were produced.

The packaging is unconventional, it is vertical and elongated. This allows the box to fit eleven CDs and makes it more noticeable on store shelves.

The reserved black makes it look somber while the gold letters add solemnity.
