Modern digital water meters are still not very widespread in Belarus, yet customers and utility companies still want to make use of the modern developments in the industry. To speed up modernization at a low cost, Nero decided to create a modem for the most popular water meter model in Belarus: it automatically takes readings and sends them to the utility company.
The readings are taken with optical elements. The modem’s frame is of a special shape that leaves important information visible. The front panel of the device has a sensor button for initial set up. Touching it will make a green LED light up nicely.
The modem is attached to the meter with a tamper-proof screw making it difficult to remove.
