The appliances become smart and can be controlled remotely. You no longer have to get up from the couch to turn the lights on or off or change their brightness: it can be done straight from the phone.
The device requires no installation: it plugs directly into the mains power outlet.
The smart plug is exquisitely elegant and beautiful.
